Gulf Coast Oil Spill Tragedy

We are receiving calls and concerns about the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

Mexico Beach has taken all precautions to protect our area.

As of this posting our beaches are still clean.

You can also check out Clear Florida Coast that is offering live footage, daily videos and specials on vacation properties in our

beautiful area. http://clearfloridacoast.com

Thank you to all of our visitors for believing in our area and understanding that it is a great place to come for vacation.  Our beaches are untouched and we have many people on alert to clean up anything that may come our way.  Our Governor and staff have opened Scallop season on June 19th.  This is a couple weeks early to help keep y’all coming to Florida.  As this is early, please leave the little guys and only take the fat ones.  This way there will be plenty for all and you won’t be so discouraged with the little bit of meat from the small guys.  Make sure you have a valid fishing license.  See you on the Bay!

Turtle nesting this year. So far we have had 9 nests but the turtles seem to be about 2 weeks behind.  A best guess for that would be a combination of the cold winter and the upset caused by the oil spill to their normal nesting areas.  The good news is – they are beginning to come ashore and nest and we just need to continue to respect their territory and try to protect it.

This all said, The Florida Panhandle is paying the price of FEAR!

Please don't cancel your vacation to the Panhandle before your call the area you plan to vacation and  get a first hand account on their environmental  conditions.    Our beaches are as pristine as ever, just empty!
The Panhandle has about 12 weeks a year to make the revenue to survive another year, this man made tragedy, fueled by FEAR, may close us all down before oil ever reaches our shores.
If we are devastated by this tragedy, those who cancel their vacations will miss out on our natural beauty, fresh seafood, and abundant wildlife.

As a  Photographer, I will be posting some of my wildlife pictures available for purchase.  These photographs will be "signed Limited Editions"  A large portion of the proceeds will be deposited in an account set aside for the recovery of the Florida Panhandle wildlife.  Purchasers of these prints will be notified by e-mail, where and when the proceeds are used.  Your support is greatly appreciated.
