Planning Your Wedding or Family Photography

Things I've Learned:

Have a plan B, if you have one, you won't need it, if you don't you will!

Small children and some adults need naps before an event, and limit the sugar.

Red cool-aid makes for red faces. No colored drinks before a shoot.

It is windy on the beach. Your hair will get blown.

Use barrettes, hairspray, or we will work with the natural look.

If it's not windy on the beach in the hot summer, there are small bugs that bite, wear bug spray.

It can be HOT! Wear sunscreen and bring some cold water.

You will get sand on you and your clothes. I provide towels to sit on if you want.

Let me know if anyone has trouble walking in the soft sand. We have other options.

Bad weather doesn't mean bad photos. Actually the opposite. Cloudy days make awesome pictures.

Sunglasses? If anyone can't go in the sun without sunglasses they won't be able to open their eyes for photos. Very cloudy days are great for them. We can do photo's with and without the sunglasses, just know the without they won't be able to keep their eyes open.

Light changing glasses. They will turn dark! If you don't look like the same person without your glasses, bring some that don't change.

Early morning is my favorite for light. You get beautiful blues and greens in your pictures, calm waters, and fewer spectators.

Sunset photos are harsh with an orange cast as a rule. Great to have, but usually don't match home decor unless you have oranges and yellows. I recommend starting early in the evening and ending with the sunset. So book accordingly.

Partly cloudy sunsets usually produce the most dramatic photos.

Mid day light is good too, but very hot in the summer.

Bring props that are YOU, examples: guitar, paint pallet, surf board, ect... I have many props, if you see any in my photos that you want in your photos, just let me know and I'll bring them. (some props were the customers and not mine, so check with me before your photo shoot)

Plan on having a GREAT Time! If your not having fun, it shows in your pictures!

I love to let the children play, swim, dance, and just be themselves. We try to get the serious shots first, and then whatever happens after that is a bonus, and usually will be your favorites!
